Rustins Advanced Wood Preserver is designed to protect all types of wood from the adverse effects of weathering.

It reduces the rot and decay that can affect timber over time, protects it from mould, algae, fungi, wood boring insects, and makes surfaces more water repellent.

It is suitable for different types of timbers, including pine, oak, mahogany, and more. It is also suitable for internal and external use and can be applied to wet or dry surfaces.

The micro emulsion nanotechnology means that this wood protector has ultra fine particles so that it is capable of deeper penetration of the wood, so it is capable of performing far greater than standard wood preservers.

Rustins Advanced Wood Preserver is a water based product that is quick drying, non-flammable and low odour.

Ensure that timber surfaces are clean and free from previous coatings, grease and contaminants. Surfaces may be damp, but the preserver should not be applied to decayed wood which should be replaced. Coverage is approx. 3 – 4 sq. metres/litre per coat, depending on the absorbency of the surface.

Medium brown, dark brown and green Advanced Wood Protector is available in 5L sizes. Clear wood protector is available in 1L and 5L sizes.

Product: Advanced Wood Preserver

Type: Coloured & Clear Wood Protector

Intended Use: For the treatment of bare wood to protect against rot, fungi and wood boring insects

Special Features: Finely dispersed ingredients giving better wood penetration and hence effectiveness compared with standard wood preservation products. Ready to use – do not dilute. Advanced Wood Protector needs to be over coated with a varnish or oil

Preparation: Ensure that timber surfaces are clean and free from previous coatings, grease and contaminants. Surfaces may be damp but the preserver should not be applied to decayed wood which should be replaced

Application: Shake well and stir before use. Apply by brush or coarse spray. For outdoor applications the Clear Preserver needs to be over coated with an outdoor varnish or oil

Coats: Apply a minimum of 2 coats

Drying Time: Between 10 – 15 minutes depending on temperature and humidity

Re-coating Time: It is important that the second application is applied before the first is dry

Application Temp: Ideally 15 – 25°C. Do not apply below 10°C

Coverage: 3 – 4 sq. metres/litre per coat, depending on absorbency of the surface

Maintenance: Re-apply periodically

Compatibility: Not compatible with previous coatings, grease and contaminants

Settlement: Shake well and stir before use or colour obtained will not be correct

Shelf-life/Storage: Store in a cool dry place with the lid tightly closed. Use within 2 years of manufacture

Hazards: Very toxic to aquatic organisms. May cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment. Keep out of reach of children. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water. Wear protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. A full Safety Data Sheet is available on request

Goods Return Procedure

At Trade Gear Limited (trading as, we strive to offer excellent customer service. We want to make your rights as a consumer and our procedures as clear as possible. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to cancel/return orders or report faulty/missing products.

Right To Cancel Order & Return Goods

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations (which replaced the Distance Selling Regulations), you have the right to cancel your order and return the goods for a refund within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason. (Bespoke and perishable products are excluded).

You must have your receipt and the goods must be in new, unused and undamaged condition, with all packaging.

To exercise your right to cancel, you must clearly inform us via email ( or post (Suite 16 Stanley Grange, Earl of Derby Estate, Liverpool, L34 4AR) of your decision to cancel the contract, within the 14 day cancellation period.

To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send the communication before the cancellation period has expired.

Order Cancellation & Returns Process

If you choose to exercise your right to cancel, you will need to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. This may involve either posting the goods yourself or paying a collection charge.

We will inform you of the returns address in our communication to you. This is separate to our registered office address. Please do not send goods to our registered office address, as this is our administration office, not where returns are processed. If you send goods back to our registered office address, the returns process may be delayed and you may be charged for carriage to send the goods to the correct address.

We will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for any supplementary costs if you chose a delivery option other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us). We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.

We will refund you within 14 days of returning the items.

Reimbursement will be made using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise.

Faulty & Missing Products

If you discover, upon receipt of your order, that the goods are damaged, please notify us straight away by sending a photo and description to On receipt of the goods, they will be inspected to check for the fault. If agreed to be faulty, we can either repair or replace the goods under warranty or we can refund the amount to your account. If however we do not find the goods to be faulty, they will be returned to you at your cost.

If an item or component is missing, please locate the product name on our website, on your order confirmation or in the assembly instructions and notify us via the above email address. We will endeavour to resolve any issues as soon as possible by replacing or supplying any damaged or missing goods free of charge.
